Five Minute Friday ~ Normal

I’ve decided to join the FMF fun. I was given a word prompt, instructions to set a timer for 5 minutes, and just write. To check it out, go here. This week’s prompt word is Normal. And, go!

They keep talking about the “New Normal.” the press, the governors, comunity leaders, and now, just people. A LOT of people, who don’t seem to realize what the term “new normal” even means.

New normal is not a temporary thing. The first time I ever heard the term was when my best friend’s husband died. One day when I asked how she was handling things without him, she said she was learning to live with her “new normal.”

“New Normal” is not a temporary thing like our governor and the press would have us believe. The term itself is a permanent thing. Are we in a new normal? If so, I resist, my family resists, and will do so forever.

And, end!

As always, I would just love it if you would join me in all of “My Journeys Through Life.” Just go to the subscription box at the top of the blog and enter your email information. After that, you will always know when there is something new happening. I hope to see you here very soon! -)

Nice to meet you Lori and I enjoyed reading your FMF! Hope you have time to visit some of my blogs, currently I’m doing the Song of the Day Challenge and my great granddaughter (and I) write some fun blogs about her events. This is one from National Playground Day! http://themarthareview.com/national-playground-day/

  2. So glad you’ve joined Five Minute Friday. I love your fresh voice (and it’s nice to have a fellow New Mexican on board).

They say this is how it will be,
    no handshakes and no hugs,
    but my response is, “Seriously?
    You must be taking drugs.”
They say life will be virtual,
and Zoom will show we care,
with heads pulled in like turtles
to breathe in our own air.
They say that we must wear masks
    until, well, who might know?
And we should take to nagging task
    those who will not go
    along with what leaders demand,
but I draw my line, here, in this sand.
