Progress

I’m joining in with the Five Minute Friday writers this week. Each week, a one word prompt is given, and the challenge to write something prompted by that word for five minutes. This week, the word is “Progress.”

Start:

Progress is measured in many ways. How much weight you lose, how many pages you write, how much packing you get done each day during a move, and on and on.

Right now for me, progress is little things. For a number of reasons, I’ve slipped into depression over the past few years. So now, I’m trying to do small things. Each day, I try to finish reading my paper copy of our newspaper on the same day we receive it. I’ve managed it most days, though not every day yet. It may seem small to you, but it’s a victory, and once I do it every day for a while, I’ll add something else.

You can do anything, if you do small things first.

End

Want to join it the fun? Go here to learn more, and here to read more bloggers who wrote on the word for this week.

As always, I would just love it if you would join me in all of “My Journeys Through Life.” Just go to the subscription box at the top of the blog and enter your email information. After that, you will always know when there is something new happening. I hope to see you here very soon! -)

“You can do anything, if you do small things first” – a good reminder, too often we focus on the big picture and then get overwhelmed. But progress can be in little things too.
