Our churches in NM no longer have capacity limits!

The Governor her in New Mexico has had very draconian restrictions for over a year now which have all but destroyed this state’s economy, but she can no longer restrict our Constitutional right to choose how we worship and with how many people.

“A spokeswoman for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said the change to the health order was made in light of recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings that blocked capacity limits for churches in New York and Colorado that were more restrictive than business restrictions.

In its November order, the Supreme Court acknowledged the public health concerns posed by the pandemic, but said restrictions that barred many from attending religious services in person struck at the “very heart” of the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee of religious liberty.”

Legacy Church in Albuquerque is quoted as saying “We are glad the court has recognized our God-given right to assemble and worship without needing the governor’s permission.  But it’s tragic that the state has stubbornly stuck to dictatorial measures that have done more harm than good.”

I am so very glad that we no longer have to face punishment for following God’s command to “Assemble together”

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25
