We were very blessed to receive the book Everybody Always For Kids from Tommy Nelson Publishing for the purpose of this review! When I read the sample pages before applying for it, I wanted to read “the rest of the story,” as Paul Harvey used to say.
Once out of the box, this is what we had, a beautiful hard cover book, with a very colorful illustration.
The author of Love Does and Everybody is Bob Goff, a New York Times best selling author. He has written the book Everybody Always for Kids with his daughter, Lindsey Goff Viducich. She has had quite a career teaching, from a time teaching at a therapeutic childcare center in Seattle, followed by teaching kindergarten in Nashville and then first grade in Salem, Oregon, and both first and second grades in San Diego. Her father is an attorney who serves as the honorary consul to the Republic of Uganda and is the founder of Love Does – a nonprofit human rights organization operating in Uganda, India, Nepal, Iraq and Somalia.
Here is a quote I found on the website for this book:
The quote is very appropriate, because the forty stories in Everybody Always for Kids are written from a Christian world view, teaching children via Biblical concepts different ways that they can show kindness to all people.
The book is targeted toward children from age six through age ten, but as I said above, *I* wanted to read the rest of the story. My son “The Batman” is significantly older chronologically, but is developmentaly delayed quite a bit. He really has enjoyed reading it!
As you can see in the picture, the book is quality. It is nice sized, perfect for him to hold, The pages are glossy, with beautiful, colorful illustrations. As you can see, there is even a nice blue ribbon to be used as an attached bookmark.
Reading the prologue, I imediately knew this would be a very good addition to our home library. The authors talk there about how God wants most for people is to grow up to be love.
One of our favorite stories is Connectiong the Dots. The boy in the story is covered in freckles, and other kids at school made fun of him, calling him Spot. His grandmother helps him by showing him the Art in his freckles!
We also received a five day lesson plan to use with the book. We have not used it, but I really like it!
There are crafts for the kids to do, hands on activities, and discussion questions. I think this is a great add on to reading this book with your children!
