Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science {Review}

Disclosure: I received this complementary product through the Homeschool Review Crew

I am not confident in my ability to teach science, so I am grateful for Self-paced 4th-7th grade one-semester classes such as the Virtual, interactive homeschool Young Scientist chemistry course from Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science. Also, my son prefers the self paced courses more than having to follow a strict schedule, so this was a good choice for him. He prefers not to have someone hanging over him while he is working.

From the About page, Greg Landry & College Prep Science:

“He has a heart for students and a passion for science… but more specifically a passion for teaching students to see God’s hand in every aspect of His creation that surrounds us. His goal is to help them see that God’s creation didn’t just happen by chance – it wasn’t an accident, a fluke of nature.” I like that!

This is what “The Artist” sees after logging in:

There are video lessons in this course, and he can follow along with the downloadable study guide:

The study guide also has printable pages, such as note taking pages and worksheets with questions for him to answer:

He really fought me about the note taking page. “That’s not how I take notes, Mom!” But he finally agreed to do it just for the pictures.

I asked “The Artist” what he liked about this course, and the first thing he said was “I like that this is Biblically based, instead of secular.” I like that part as well. What “The Artist” said he doesn’t like, “The videos were too long.”

What “The Artist” told me does, in order:

  • I log in
  • I go to the dashboard a click on courses
  • I go to the lesson next lesson
  • I watch the lesson
  • Go to the pdf study guide and print out the forms I need
  • Fill out the forms
